Two dolphins jumped into the air as I stepped outside onto my client's patio on the Saint Lucie river. Sewall's Point is a lovely community nestled on the eastern edge of Martin County.
Entering Sewall's Point, you encounter a canopy of lush tropical foliage as a reminder of the untouched nature of South Florida. A peninsula east of Stuart, Florida, the homes on Sewall's Point are graced with waterfront views.
Henry Sewall and his wife arrived in the area in 1889, homesteaded the peninsula, built a home, dock and established a second post office. Many houses were assembled from "recycled wood" (lumber from the shipwrecks). The town, SEWALL'S POINT, was incorporated in 1957.
The client requested I reupholster her furniture with fresh colors of aqua and olive. We used a classic and historical pattern, "Les Alizes" from Brunschwig & Fils, and a Jane Shelton fabric weaved in aqua. These fabrics are featured in our Dixie & Grace "Les Alizes" and "Agave" Collections
